Test UNITY Game

Check it out! Here's a WAY early test build of our classically animated Unity game!  --  This is a WAAAAY early build and needs a lot of polish, but it was our first test of our animation clips blending together and testing how to do the jumping and attacking.  THIS IS NOT AN EXAMPLE OF GAMEPLAY!!  It is a PROOF OF CONCEPT for getting game assets into the Unity engine for further development.  There literally is no gameplay here whatsoever.  It's merely me testing how to link things together within Unity.

CONTROLS:
=========
 Movement: Arrow keys or W, S, A, D
Jump: Spacebar
Attack: Ctrl key

Thought I'd swing together a fun drawing for the excellent Scotty Arsenault and his fun webcomic Commander Kitty. He's recently branched out to indie support. Why not have a look at his Patreon page over at -- http://www.patreon.com/ferretface?ty=c

Congrats on making it happen dude.. I honestly envy what you're doing. Drawn and rendered entirely in Toon Boom Harmony 11, on a WACOM Cintiq companion slate PC.

I've been doodling in Photoshop again.  It's a Boy-Is-It-Ever-Monday warm-up sketch before tackling my workload.

I'll most likely make a few more passes at this at a later date. But for now, here's the original ruff drawing.

Derpy Duo

Just a quick cooldown Photoshop doodle at the end of my Friday work day. It's been a while since I last did a Scaredy Squirrel scene. I really look forward to starting season 2 in January. ^_^

What Have I Done?!

What Have I Done?!, originally uploaded by Fnook.
... Well, there you go... I've been Bronyed..

I.. I.. Don't have much of an explanation for this one.. Someone dared me to do this.. And that someone would be Demonysh... Many of you could've guessed. I think it's because I'm floored at the fan-craze that show has.

Leigh

Leigh, originally uploaded by Fnook.
Let me start by saying that I've been having a helluvva past couple of months with brutal animation deadlines, and work pressure out the waazzoo.. Artistically, I'm so completely burned out that I was starting to think I COULDN'T draw anything for myself even though I really wanted to, but didn't have the drive, nor the energy.

I was browsing the recent entries for the folks I'm watching, when I came across a recent post by Babyfox on deviantArt.. I really thought it was a cute design.. I really wanted to draw this.. So I did..

Thanks for getting me out of my art block ! -- Hope you like it..

Sketchbook: Ratchet & Clank

Sketchbook: Ratchet & Clank, originally uploaded by Fnook.
A few more sketches pulled from my bulging sketchbook.. Bloated like a sea corpse, it is.. *ahem*.. -- I've always been a big fan of the Ratchet & Clank games back on the Playstation 2, and here's some evidence of that. Technicly these two shouldn't work together because character-wise they both play the straight man, but for the purposes of the game they seem to work fine.

Fun sketches for a fun game. I'd like to start doing a few more of these game character sketches.. Maybe when I find a bit more time in my work schedule.

Now I'm off to get more of my animation quota done.

Autobot Mashup

I realized this morning that I had these sketches in my sketchbook from ages ago, and I've never uploaded them. So here they are... :D
They're born from frustration over the crap designs from the Michael Bay Transformers movies. I LOATHED the Transformer designs in the film, and knew whole-heartedly that I could design something FAR more appealing in my sleep. So over a few months my sketchbook pages started to fill with drawings like these..

Yes.. You see a transformer redesign on a Dr. Who Dalek in there. EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!!!! ^_^

Dec. 2010 - SketchDump

Dec. 2010 - SketchDump, originally uploaded by Fnook.
I didn't have a lot of time over the month of December for drawing. Busyness with studio time has my hands occupied for the most part. But here is a collection of doodles I've managed to get done whilst spending time wiff Demonysh..

Yes.. You see there an actual Pokemon gag. I know next to nothing about Pokemon except the really weird and creepy breeding rituals. O_o

All are either ballpoint pen, or 2B/HB pencil..

Scaredy Squirrel - Clip 009

Scardey Squirrel - Clip 009, originally uploaded by Fnook.
I had fun animating these couple of scenes, so I thought I'd post them. This series is a heck of a lot of work, but it's also a heck of a lot of fun too.

Animated in ToonBOOM Animate Pro 2, using a Wacom Cintiq 21 UX.

More Crayon Doodlin'

I'm actually amazed that I got this drawing made at all, considering how many times said 3-year-old took the crayon away from me. I had to crop this scan tight to stave-off the intruding pre-schooler. (He insisted that I was drawing it wrong, and "I show you how") -- I'm told in broken sentences that I don't know how to draw bunny rabbits, and when he scribbles on the page I was drawing on that he's made it a robot out of it.

Crayon Doodlin...

Crayon Doodlin.. by *fnook on deviantART

This is what I get up to when trying to entertain a grumpy 3-year-old. It comes complete with the hamburger greese finger print on mouse's neck.
The 3-year-old in question completely ignored me while I drew this for him, in favour of a Spongebob episode he's seen 300 times already. *sigh*

Werner III - Clip

Werner III - Clip, originally uploaded by Fnook.
Waaaaay back in 1999 I was doing freelance animation for Hahn Films. I finally managed to find a copy of this film and a few others I had worked on, out of Germany. Man, this was a LOOOONG time ago, and it's kinda weird to see these days of my career again. Here's a clip.
