Sketchbook - Mechs 3
Today at work I had a major computer meltdown. So, whilst I was waiting for the IT dept to work their magic and restore my work computer to life, I did some mech/robot doodling on the back of some storyboards I had sitting on my desk. Here's an idea for a zero-gravity, or anti-gravity mech. (just an idea kicking around in my skull).

Sketchbook - Nightmare Bogeyman
Continuing along the line of my Monsters, Horrors, and Warriors frame of mind comes one of my all time lasting impressions.. When I was a kid, I vividly remember being afraid of the Bogeyman, and how he was going to crawl from under my bed and either take me away, or bite my legs off.
As an adult, it's actually quite a lot of fun to visualize childhood horrors.

I've had monsters and barbarians in my head lately.. I've been playing around with ideas for some kinda Conan, monster, horror, muscley naked men with big swords & shields mashup.. It's sooo much fun to draw this stuff when I really should be animating my scenes instead. O_o

Straight from my sketchbook. I spent a chunk of the evening doodling my two cats. (Zuzu and Cleo). It's been quite a while since I've done this, but it feels good to loosen up and get some sketching in before bed.

I thought I'd post part of my process for animating a "Scardey Squirrel" scene. Usually to get the acting right, an animator would make a very loose and rough first pass at the animation, using few key drawings and "breakdowns" to get a better idea on how to animate the scene before going through the time consuming process of doing final drawings.
